English Department
Four credits of English are required for graduation. These credits must include: English 9 (1 credit), English 10 (1 credit), English 11 (1 credit), English 12 (1 credit). Qualifying juniors may substitute A.P. Literature/Composition for English 11. Qualifying seniors may substitute A.P. Language/Composition for English 12.
Content and Skill Development: All core classes involve students in activities that develop skills in writing, speaking, listening, and reading text and media. Integrated within the four core classes is a process of career development, creative writing, multimedia applications, literature, drama, interpersonal and public communications.
